King, NC Basement Renovation

Before and After Photos

The client wanted to remodel their basement to create an art studio for herself and playroom for her grand-daughter. A wall was removed between the garage and existing finished space to create the art studio. The garage door was replaced with windows and a patio door and windows were added to create a more light-filled studio. A closet was removed to expand the existing bath and give access to the bath from the studio. Another closet was removed to create a reading nook in the playroom. There are several closet doors, as well as an elevator door, so a white paint was selected to let the client’s artwork stand out instead of the doors. Plank ceramic tile offers the look of wood floors, but is much better suited for a basement. Remote-controlled LED track lighting in the studio affords painting anytime of the day. The client says they now spend all of their time in the basement and she is painting much more than before the renovation.
